KAZI MAGAZINE - DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Daniel Shawell serves as Director of Photography for Kazi Magazine, leading the visual development and execution of the shoot from concept to final image. His approach combines high-fashion portraiture with contemporary pop aesthetics, utilizing dynamic camera angles, clean studio lighting, and expressive compositions to create imagery that feels both polished and playful. Through a focus on detail, styling, and visual storytelling, Shawell crafted a cohesive editorial narrative that highlights individuality, confidence, and modern youth culture while maintaining the elevated visual standards of KAZI Magazines.
Freight Tapes — Brand Identity

Freight Tapes is the visual identity behind Kazi Magazine's live performance platform—an original IP created to document and celebrate music through intimate live sessions, cinematic storytelling, and authentic artist experiences.
Inspired by the nostalgia of the cassette tape, the logo symbolizes preservation, movement, and timeless sound. The cassette represents music as a physical artifact, while the surrounding star and scattered particles evoke energy, discovery, and the fleeting moments that make live performances unforgettable. Together, these elements create a mark that feels both archival and contemporary.
The identity is intentionally minimal, relying on bold monochrome forms that translate seamlessly across digital content, social media, motion graphics, merchandise, and video branding. Its simplicity allows the performances—and the artists themselves—to remain the focal point.
More than a logo, Freight Tapes serves as the signature mark for a growing creative platform dedicated to capturing raw talent with editorial quality. Every session is designed to feel immersive, cinematic, and honest, preserving performances as moments worth revisiting.
This project establishes the visual foundation for the Freight Tapes universe and the next chapter of Kazi Magazine's original content.
