HOW TO BOOK A PHOTO SHOOT

Whether you need portraits, editorial imagery, a creative concept brought to life, family photographs, fashion images, event coverage, wedding photography, or visual content for your business, every shoot begins with a conversation.
My goal is to understand what you need, what you are trying to create, and how I can use photography to bring that vision into focus.
MY STANDARD RATE
$250 PER HOUR
For straightforward photography bookings, my standard rate is:
$200/hour
This rate is designed for shoots where the scope is relatively simple and the photography needs are clearly defined.
The hourly rate covers the time I am booked to photograph your project. The total cost is based on the number of hours reserved.
When booking by the hour, the shoot is generally straightforward: we discuss what you need, agree on the amount of time required, reserve the date, and move forward.
HOURLY BOOKINGS VS. QUOTED PROJECTS
Not every shoot fits neatly into an hourly rate.
Some projects require more planning, production, people, equipment, locations, travel, post-production, or creative development. For those projects, I provide a custom quote based on the overall scope of the work.
The goal of a custom quote is to make sure the project is properly planned and that everyone understands what is included before production begins.
BOOKING & NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT POLICY
RESERVING YOUR DATE
A deposit is required to officially reserve and confirm your shoot date.
Once your deposit has been received and your booking has been confirmed, the date and time are reserved exclusively for you. The deposit is non-refundable.
By submitting a deposit, you acknowledge and agree to this non-refundable booking policy.
CANCELLATIONS
If you cancel your shoot for any reason, the deposit will not be refunded.
Cancellations made within 72 hours of the scheduled shoot will also result in the deposit being retained in full.
Because your booking reserves a specific date and time, the deposit compensates for holding that availability and turning away other potential bookings.
WHAT TO INCLUDE WHEN YOU CONTACT ME
When reaching out, you can keep it simple.
A good inquiry might include:
“Hi Daniel, I’m interested in booking a [type of shoot]. I’m looking to create [brief description of what you need]. The shoot would be in [location] around [date or timeframe]. There would be [number of people] involved, and I estimate needing approximately [number of hours]. Here are some references for the direction I have in mind: [links or attachments].”
From there, we can figure out the details together.
